What can be said about DmC that already hasn't been said? It's nothing like the classic and awesome game series of DMC. It's an okay game actually, I have no problems with the gameplay.

My hands and thumbs are a little rusty, I haven't played any of the dmc games since 2008 nor bayonetta.

The problem is the story, the characters, and the dialog.

Okay, the story, from what I could gather from the demo is that Vergil is now the leader of some resistance group and the world knows of Donte's existence and dislikes him. So Vergil sends one of his underlings to bring Donte to him to explain the situation and his mission.. From the demo, it suggests that Vergil is a friendly, and Donate had no idea who he is or what his family history is.

So, from this, the fact Vergil is alive and that Donte is naïve to the situation, I shall be comparing this to DMC 3's storyline. (now forgive me, its been years since I've even thought of 3's storyline) In DMC 3 Dante is fully aware of his parents past, who they are, who they were, what they were about. In this, Vergil seeks to bring back an evil. So he sends his underling to send Dante a message, to make him aware Vergil is alive and ready to fuck shit up. We have real no idea if the outside world knows of Dante's existence as we don't see civilians at all.

(UPDATE) Wikipedia's DMC3 story

Devil May Cry 3 opens in Dante's as-of-yet unnamed shop as a mysterious man named Arkham arrives with an invitation from Dante's brother Vergil in the form of a brutal demon attack. After Dante defeats the enemies, an immense tower erupts from the ground a short distance away. Sensing Vergil atop the structure, Dante takes the situation as a challenge ~ Arkham is working for Vergil and they plan to take Dante's half of the amulet their mother gave them and use its power to reactivate the tower's ability to connect the human and demon worlds.

Okay, the characters.

At first, I kinda didn't mind Donte, he is kinda bland and his actor doesn't seem interested in the dialog. Looking at his character model, noticing his jacket, it kinda looks like a lamer version of Nero

Like Dante, Donte is quick-witted with the wise cracks to his enemy's. Unlike Dante, Donte isn't very clever with the insults. Usually relying on "fuck you"s, "shit", "shut the fuck up" and lots of different ways of saying "fuck". That's okay, his enemies are not ver clever with the insults either. It feels like a 13 year old wrote this passage of dialog that I'm paraphrasing: "I'll fucking rip you apart and shit in your mouth as I piss on your corpse."

At one point the writers decided to have this conversation:

"fuck you"

"fuck you!"

"FUCK YOUUUU!!!!"

Donte's dialog makes him seem like he is a teenager trying really hard to be cool and edgy, but failing really bad at it.

It's cringe worthy at times.

So, how should I end this, I guess a wrap up and a score So, I loved the gameplay, certainly not as responsive as past dmc games, but that might be because of the unreal engine. I would give this game a 7/10 if it wasn't trying and failing to be devil may cry. So, just from the demo, I shall give this game a 4/10 Let's see how the top critics score it.

Hiya. You had a picture of Tex Avery's Red not too long ago. Is there anyway to see it again?
